ROLE OVERVIEW
Wilson Hawkins is looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and dedicated professional to join our boutique block management team as a Junior Block Manager.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1-2 years of block management or property management experience who is eager to develop their skills within an agile, tech-driven boutique agency. You will work closely with our Block Management team, supporting the management of residential blocks, learning the full lifecycle of property management, and gradually taking on greater responsibility as your expertise grows.
This role is perfect for someone who wants to build a solid foundation in block management, work with real clients from day one, and develop a genuine career path within a supportive team environment where your contribution is valued and your progression is visible.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
You will be expected to manage your assigned tasks with care and attention to detail, seeking guidance from senior team members when needed. You will support the day-to-day management of blocks, from site inspections to maintenance coordination, and gradually develop the confidence and knowledge to manage more complex matters independently.
Every interaction with our clients should reflect the Wilson Hawkins standard: professional, honest, transparent, and trustworthy. You will learn how to build and maintain strong relationships with Resident Management Company (RMC) Directors, Freeholders, and leaseholders, understanding the importance of clear communication and proactive service.
As you progress, you will become someone the team can rely on. You will take on increasing responsibility for block portfolios, mentor will be provided throughout, and you’ll develop the expertise to make sound, compliant decisions under supervision.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- You conduct site inspections under guidance, gradually learning to identify maintenance issues and prepare accurate reports.
- Directors, Freeholders, and leaseholders receive responsive, professional communications and feel their queries are being handled with care.
- You assist with service charge budget preparation and maintenance task tracking, developing your financial and administrative competence.

- Maintenance tasks, compliance logs, and communications are accurately recorded within our property management software.
- You demonstrate reliability, ask the right questions, and show genuine interest in deepening your block management knowledge.
HOW YOU’LL SPEND MOST OF YOUR TIME
Most weeks, you will be:
- Supporting senior managers with regular site inspections across the portfolio, learning to spot issues and assess building condition.
- Assisting with day-to-day reactive maintenance tracking, coordinating with contractors, and managing maintenance schedules.
- Supporting the preparation of annual service charge budgets and tracking expenditure in collaboration with our financial team.
- Assisting with administrative tasks related to Section 20 consultation processes, coordinating information between stakeholders.
- Learning the statutory health and safety requirements for residential blocks, including Fire Risk Assessments (FRA), asbestos management, and water hygiene protocols.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance tasks, compliance logs, and client communications in our proprietary management software.
- Attending AGM and Director meetings with senior staff, taking minutes and learning meeting management.
- Supporting the wider block management team on ad-hoc projects and developing your understanding of digital-first management processes.
